Can you image that you go to school in China, and you don’t know Chinese, the teachers don’t know English, how is your studying being there? As we all known that United States is a country of immigrants, the number of children who are English language learners is growing rapidly, and they present difficult in public preschool education programs. How can we provide those children with equal education? We are as educators, how can we engage in something fun to get these children’s attention in class? If the teacher can speak the children’s native language, it will help, which hit brick wall in their learning. For me, being a non-English speaker is also as a resource, I feel good knowing I have ways to better support diverse language in the classroom. All in all, learning multiple languages can improve cognitive and social-emotional development and have the chances for long-term success, so we should educate emergent bilingual children.
